“I am proud of my own achievements, I will never be proud of the country I was born in.”
~Said by ALL who don’t agree with the hypocrisy of what is known as the land of the free. If you leave your oppressed country to come to America to live the American dream, know that unless your skin is white you will find yourself still, in a daily struggle for a freedom that is purely conceptual.
I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can’t take that away
“And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men* who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.”
*ALL MEN or not including the men who served in segregated infantry from 1779-1954
~Lee Greenwood 1983
Yes. The United States is the biggest contradiction.
