Mom
Nineteen
Years you left us
No longer as hard
to pass each time of day
But I still miss you so much
Have you reunited with Dad ?
Or is there still distance between you ?
Because he remarried after you passed ?
I hope in heaven you made amends
Before Dad died I made amends
It sucks not having parents
Yet, I love my in-laws
Especially, Mom
But, not like you
My anchor
My rock
You
A double etheree poem dedicated in loving memory of
my Mom, Shirl Snyder 1941-2002
and my Dad, Donald Snyder Sr 1936-2019
A beautiful tribute 🖤🖤

Lovely…I see our poetic tributes to our moms shared the same form. 😊💙

I’d normally say great minds think alike, but I read your poem first and never wrote in that style til yesterday.

Well, I’m happy my poem inspired yours. I’ve done the same thing, seen a new poetic form and given it a go.

I love this, Matt. I’m sorry your parents are no longer here on Earth.

Eh it’s ok, took years to get over my Mom..Dad I miss him but I put up steel walls to his bullshit bullying for decades and only tore down those walls 6 months before he got sick

Sending you a little light and love. Losing both parents is very challenging.

I am grateful my older brother is still alive. Both my parents core family units have passed.

I’m glad that’s the case for you (having a brother). I was raised as an only child, so I always felt that if I had someone else, then I would’ve felt better.
