Perception…

vocal tone

prone to intimidate ?

But, surely not on purpose

your misconceptions derived from your own distorted mind

put me in harms way

i share those distortions

an anxious state that has plagued me a half a century

i tried meds but they all stole my virility

pushed me further down a dark path

so i make do without

a challenge for sure

but if my tone

caused you discomfort or fear

better to alert the proper channels

than the unhinged 3rd party you sent in your defense

the youngin’ 30 years my junior was an intimdating force to be reckoned with

no matter how hard i either tried to reason or understand he refused to divulge

and made it known that HE

WASN’T AFRAID OF ME…

But, i am now afraid of him

thanks to your distorted mind reading my vocal tones all wrong

i apologize to you

but you are the reason i experienced this altercation

you are the reason this unhinged young man is now hospitalized

because your distorted perceptions of who i am are far from the truth

  1. I feel like “Johnny-Come-Lately” readng your blog. It’s like starting a novel in the middle of the book. I can tell I need to peruse prior posts! Thank you for visiting JanBeek. In contrast, I feel so obtuse and at the same time – transparent! I don’t have a “distorted perception” of who you are. I don’t know an unhinged, hospitalized young man. Is that you? Who are you?

    1. that poem was written about a coworker who went thru the wrong channels on fixing a situation. I was confronted by the young man who ended up being hospitalized for a med adjustment. My young 22 yr old coworker was apparently intimidated by my voice and instead either telling me, the supervisor or the manger she told a peer in another department who threatened me verbally. I need situations like that at 50.
