Food for Thought: Rhiz Shy Dee or Liz or Syrian Rice & Beans or the best soup i know how to make thanks to my Mom <3…

In a large pot add 2 tblsp of Olive Oil

Add diced sweet onion seasoned with za’tar

Add ground chicken seasoned with dried parsley

cook chicken & onions until done

add two cans of french style green beans (Don’t drain)

add two large cans of whole peeled tomatoes squished by hand (Don’t drain)

season with black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt and 1 tblsp of unsalted butter

simmer on medium heat for an hour

make jasmine rice and serve soup over top of rice

I grew up eating this incredible and simple meal but my mom used ground beef, no za’tar and the green beans were thick cut but it still tastes like growing up in the 70’s & 80’s 🙂
