INK (Zato-Ino)…

In 2003, I wanted to adorn myself with tattoos after my Mom died. I got a blue sea turtle to represent me and a Chinese character for what I thought was strength as a memorial for my Mom’s passing. Unbeknownst to me either the tattoo artist was playing a joke or was just ignorant because the Chinese character on my arm actually translates to Little Field Pig as translated by a relative that studied Chinese.

Now I keep saying I could get a cover up tattoo to rid myself of that bad ink but last Summer I decided to get this design under “Little Field Pig”. Zato-Ino is a blind bad ass samurai pig from the anthropomorphic comic Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai. That comic is about a bad ass Ronin Rabbit. So, in turn I took an insult possibly aimed at me and made it positive. 🙂

This photo was taken in 2018 when the tattoo was in the healing process, the design isn’t smudged.
